Overview
A scenic desert hike through the Mecca Hills badlands featuring winding canyon passages, ridge walking, and wide views toward the Salton Sea. Expect uneven terrain and a steady climb before a lunch stop.
Route Plan (Host Route)
The group will hike from the Little Utah Canyon area, connect along a ridgeline, then drop into Big Utah Canyon and pass through “the narrows,” continuing to a summit viewpoint for lunch before returning the same general way.

Meet at Mecca Travel Center (90480 66th Ave, Mecca, CA). The map link on this event provides navigation. Please arrive early—carpools typically depart promptly.

This event is listed across multiple regional naturist calendars and is supported by members of SCNA, Camping Bares, NITOC, and RCNA.
What to Bring (Recommended)
Water (more than you think), sun protection, sturdy shoes, snacks/lunch, and layers for desert temperature shifts.
Optional Lodging (SCNA Coordinated)
Optional lodging may be available at a private hot springs campground near Bombay Beach (approx 28 miles south of Mecca) if there is sufficient interest.
The campground can accommodate up to six people at an estimated cost of approximately $30 per person. A reservation will only be made if there is sufficient interest.
